Mountain bike on the island of ElbaItinerary: Capoliveri-Fattoria delle Ripalte-Capoliveri
Type of road: (Excursion A) 80% on dirt road; 20% asphalted, 100% on dirt road on the trail n. 70 (Excursion B).

Duration: h 2,30.
Difficulty: easy.
The departure is in Capoliveri. Once left the village you have to take the dirt road direction 'Costa dei Gabbiani' for around 10 km along the Calamita mountain.Along the road you can admire on the right the Golfo Stella, the Gemini islands and the beautiful Innamorata beach.
The road leads alog the old iron mines, closed today. Going slowly uphill you reach the Ripalte Factory. From here you can take 2 different directions: (Excursion A) after the gates you take a downhill trail that brings you to the locality Calagrande. This road allows you a beautiful view over the north-eastern side of the island and the creeks of Stagnone and Calanova.
Once in Calagrande, just take the asphalted road that brings you directly back to Capoliveri.
If you take on the left at the Ripalte Factory, after a short piece of asphalted road, you can take the trail n. 70 (excursion B).
On this trail you drive on the opposite side of the Calamita mountain and you have a splendid view over the town of Porto Azzurro until Punta delle Canelle. Once you reach the military radio tower, it goes steeply downhilland you reach Capoliveri after another small piece of concrete road.
